Red Thread
Photography is my voice when words fall short—a medium that illuminates both light and shadow, unveiling stories that often remain hidden. In this exhibit, I use red to explore the connections binding us to our forefathers, brothers, and sisters. It asks: What is this red thread of resilience that links us across generations?
This question has led me on a journey into spaces never intended for our inclusion—from rural Appalachia to the Palace of Versailles—where I examine what it means to live in a world where our identities are defined for us.
Through these images, I invite viewers to reflect on the weight of these spaces, to question their place within them, and to consider the legacies they either uphold or resist.
Our history has often been accessible to everyone but us—a story retold without its rightful voice. This exhibit is my way of reclaiming that story, piecing together a narrative long erased.
