Homecoming

I’ve long critiqued my hometown, Fayetteville, NC, for lacking the infrastructure to support the people who actually live there. Now, that infrastructure is finally arriving—but at the peril and frustration of my community and loved ones, who are being impacted and infringed upon in the process.

Homecoming is an ongoing project where I return to photograph Fayetteville State University’s Homecoming as a way of documenting the interaction between persistent community traditions and the early signs of gentrification.
